About us

Who we are

The Frankincense Company works with Boswellia resin from the highlands of the Horn of Africa — tapped and harvested by hand, sorted by grade, distilled in the UK.

The resin is collected from the first step of the process to the last, using techniques that have not changed in generations, and checked for quality at every stage from harvest through to distillation.

Our products

We supply wild-harvested frankincense resin and frankincense essential oil, alongside a skincare range made in the UK.

We select raw materials directly from growers, then transform them into finished ingredients under the same standards we apply to harvesting. Our oils are analysed by independent laboratories, and a certificate of analysis is available on request.

We control the processes behind our products, and we take care over how they are packaged, stored and handled so they are protected from light and oxygen.

Our frankincense oil is suited to multiple uses. It can be used on its own, or added to a cream, lotion or hair conditioner. Our aromatherapy range includes essential oils and incense.

Sustainability

We take the sustainability of our supply seriously. Frankincense depends on trees that take decades to mature, so how they are tapped matters as much as what comes out of them. We work on the principle that nothing should go to waste.

We care about the people we work with, the communities our resin comes from, and the customers who buy from us. Protecting the trees and the environment around them is what keeps this trade available to the next generation.

Our commitment

— To never compromise on the quality of what we supply.

— To be transparent about where our resin comes from and how it is handled.

— To provide documentation and analysis for our oil and resin on request.
